Is this your dog?

By the time most people call Laura, they have already tried everything.

That is exactly who she is for. If your dog has you walking at dawn, crossing the street, or afraid of what happens next, you are in the right place.

Reactivity

Lunges, barks, and loses it at other dogs on walks.

Walks feel like a minefield. You cross the street, you walk at dawn, you dread the next corner. It does not have to stay this way.

Aggression

Growls, snaps, or has already bitten.

You love your dog and you are scared of what happens next. This is Laura's specialty, and the reason vets and other trainers refer to her.

Separation anxiety

Panics, destroys, or cannot be left alone.

The barking, the scratched doors, the guilt every time you leave. Anxiety is treatable once you reach the root of it.

The method

A unique understanding leads to a unique approach.

“My approach goes far beyond teaching your dog to sit. You will learn what your dog needs from you to become his calmest, happiest, most fulfilled self.”

Balanced training means fair but firm guidance, clear boundaries, and a balance of positive and negative consequences, matched to the emotional root of the behavior. Not bribery, not intimidation. Real communication.

About Laura

She trained a gibbon for medical care. Your dog is in good hands.

Laura Rice is a graduate of the Moorpark College Exotic Animal Training and Management program, with degrees in Animal Behavior and Animal Training. During her training she rehabilitated a traumatized macaw and taught a gibbon to cooperate with medical procedures. Then she found her calling: the hardest dog cases, the ones other trainers turn away. She has focused there ever since, one Valley family at a time, since 2004.
